Importance of keeping the historic buildings in these two locations

    In Milford, most of the buildings there date back to the eighteenth and nineteenth century. Many of the original homes and buildings have been preserved throughout the centuries. Some of these houses have been converted into businesses. For example at 414 Main Street, a small one story house was converted into a hair salon. In Athens, most of the buildings date to the founding of the city. On Court Street, most of the buildings are older and have character. But sadly there has been historic buildings like the Berry Hotel that was torn down in 1974 to create a parking lot. Then in 1997 the Court Street Diner was built on the previous location of the Berry Hotel.      I believe that it is important to keep these historic buildings since the buildings contain so much history and character. Main Idea of the Blog

     Hello! This blog is about the historic buildings in Milford, Ohio and Athens,Ohio. Both places have buildings that are centuries old despite being on the opposite sides of the Southern part of Ohio. Milford, Ohio was founded only a few years before Athens, Ohio was. Milford, Ohio is growing and becoming more popular in the last few years. A few years after Athens,Ohio was founded, Ohio University was founded in 1804. Athens,Ohio is now known as the home of Ohio University. Both places have a very rich history and are similar in many ways like being small towns that are just a short distance from other states like Kentucky and Indiana and West Virginia. Both towns have gone under many changes over the years with new businesses and changes of buildings themselves.
